For the 25th year, the two Rotary Clubs of Slidell (Slidell and Northshore) have partnered together and in conjunction with the City of Slidell to put on the Slidell Heritage Festival at Heritage Park, which is held annually on the Saturday of the 4th of July weekend.  The Festival features food, beverages, booths from our sponsors, children’s activities and live music from local performers, and culminates in a fantastic fireworks display that lasts over 10 minutes!!

The festival originated from a planning retreat including both Rotary Clubs, the purpose of which was to consider various fund-raising ideas and select the best one to provide a long-lasting fundraising platform that would bring meaningful benefit to our community.  Many ideas were considered and vetted, and from this the Slidell Heritage Festival was born.  It began in the streets of Olde Towne before Heritage Park was available.

Fifteen (15) members of the Rotary Club of Slidell donated more than 170 hours to put on the 2022 Slidell Heritage Festival, with another 110+ hours donated by twenty-four (24) members from the Slidell Northshore club.  The Slidell Heritage Festival Board is made up of an equal number of members from both clubs.  Funds raised from the Festival go towards both clubs' charitable projects as well as local charitable organizations, who also provide services at the Festival, such as trash pick-up, take admission tickets, man food and drink booths, and work the kids’ booth.
