While the rest of the area attended parades, Rotary Club of Slidell members Kenny Breaux and Mark Ricard donated a total of 64 hours with the Epworth Project, leading two teams of volunteers from Massachusetts over Mardi Gras week.

The group made repairs and improvements to five homes in the Slidell/Lacombe area.  Improvements included building two handicap ramps at two homes and a major landscape clean up at one home.  Repairs included roofing, soffit and fascia, remove and reinstall sheetrock, replace bathroom subfloor (the tub was falling through the floor!), replace three carport posts, and repair and paint an exterior door and frame.

The Rotary Club of Slidell meets at noon on Fridays at NOLA Grill's Lagniappe Room.  The Epworth Project is the ecumenical faith-based volunteer-driven component of Northshore Disaster Recovery, Inc.
